Mrs. Lisa Pescay joined St. Peter Catholic School in 2016 as the middle school STEM teacher. She was born and raised in St. Bernard and moved to the northshore after Hurricane Katrina. She earned a Bachelors degree from the University of New Orleans in elementary education with a concentration in science. After completing her undergraduate degree, Mrs. Pescay went on to earn a Masters degree in Science Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University. Before coming to St. Peter Catholic School, Mrs. Pescay taught at both Catholics and private schools, most recently at St. Robert Bellarmine in Arabi. While she spent several years away from the classroom while her children were young, she is very excited to start her tenth year teaching and to be building the STEM curriculum. Mrs. Pescay enjoys being able to share her Catholic faith with her students while watching them learn and hopes to encourage students to continue into STEM fields as they get older. Mrs. Pescay and her husband, Shane, have three children; a daughter at Archbishop Hannan High School, and two boys here at St. Peter.
